Recently the students at New Norm Farm took our first field trip of the school year. We visited Apple Valley Orchard east of Cleveland. The orchard was born during the early sixties when a local family planted two apple trees in their backyard. As time went on they set out more and more until they had approximately 15,000 trees!
The trip was a lot of fun as well as educational. The children took a nice hayride and were told the story of Johnny Appleseed. Plus, they got to visit the room where Apple Valley makes their delicious apple cider. Then we had a wonderful lunch under the pavilion. The delicious meal was provided by Kassy – our resident cook and craftmaster.
A special shout out goes to Emily for makingthe arrangements. Each child left with an apple a special Apple container filled with delicious freshly pressed apple cider. There were smiles all around! It was a great da
y with the family from New Norm Farm.
